Start here.
A field guide to looking sharp, feeling strong, and showing up well anywhere.
A few years ago I slept on an air mattress on the floor at the foot of my colleague’s bed for five days straight. One bathroom. Shared studio. I had eighteen-hour workdays going in, a redeye to get there, and days that started at 6am and ended at 3am once I arrived.
Every morning I had to be out the door at or before 7am looking impossibly well put together, running on a few hours of floor sleep, and with my brain firing on every cylinder I had. Not adequately. Not passably. Actually well.
I looked great and I was sharp. That’s not a brag — it’s the whole point.
Presence under pressure is preparation made visible. Once you have that, the air mattress is just a minor inconvenience on the way to a good story.
I’ve spent years working in entertainment and in tech — as an exec, as an executive communications strategist, and as someone who has spent a significant portion of her adult life in motion. In 2025 I was away from New York 47% of the year. Not my most traveled year. Half my life happens in hotel rooms, conference centers, airports, and cities I’ve never been to before — and all of it requires showing up well, on short notice, with whatever I packed and however much sleep I got.
This is what I’ve figured out along the way.
Presence is a set of decisions made in advance so you're not improvising when the stakes are high and the hotel air is terrible.
This isn’t about style, though we’ll talk about clothes. It isn’t about wellness, though we’ll talk about recovery, sleep, skin, and the things that make you feel like a human after a redeye. It isn’t about travel, though there will be city intelligence, packing systems, and strong opinions about hotel gyms.
It’s a field guide for women who are always somewhere — a flight, a conference, a dinner, a city they’ve never been to — and need to show up well anyway.
Who it’s for
High-performing women with demanding lives, high standards, and zero interest in letting stress, travel, bad lighting, jet lag, or a hostile calendar show all over their face. Women who want to land the room, survive the flight, look immaculate at dinner, and recover by morning. Women who are not optimization goblins and do not have four hours a day for wellness rituals — but who do care, deeply, about showing up well. If you’ve ever landed from a redeye, cleared customs, and walked straight into a meeting looking like you slept…you already know what this is about.
What we cover
Four things, treated as one system:
What to expect
A couple issues a week. Some are protocols — specific, practical, field-tested. Some are observations from airports, conference rooms, hotel lobbies, and dinners that mattered. All of it is specific, none of it is generic, and I will never tell you that confidence comes from within.
Next issue: the travel reset protocol. How to get off a plane and become a person again — fast, without spending $400 at the airport spa.
